Team owner Michael Andretti will serve as Grand Marshal for this weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Andretti captured two Long Beach wins as a driver (1986, 2002), four wins as a team owner (2010, 2011, 2018, 2019) and a win as a Super Vee driver (1983). Andretti was honored permanently on the Long Beach Walk of Fame in 2010.
- It has been almost 30 months since the NTT INDYCAR SERIES last raced in Long Beach, with the 2020 race cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2021 race moved to this September weekend from the traditional April race date.
- Southern California native Colton Herta is fresh off a victory at Laguna Seca and will be making only his second career INDYCAR start in Long Beach.
