NTT INDYCAR SERIES
104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge
08.23.2020
After nearly three months delayed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, Indianapolis Motor Speedway came alive Sunday with the roar of 33 engines. For the first time in the track’s 109-year history, no spectators were in attendance for the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge. Andretti Autosport fielded six entries for today’s 500-mile race, the most of any team in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES paddock.

For the first time, three generations of the Andretti family led the 33-car field to the green flag with Mario Andretti driving his son, Michael, in the Honda Fastest Seat in Sports followed by grandson and pole sitter, Marco. After a hard fought 200 laps, the Andretti Autosport stable took the checkered with five drivers inside the top 15 during a Honda-dominated Indy 500.

“It was an okay race, the Gleaners Honda car performed well. We didn’t have enough for the win but happy with how the team performed, we had great stops as usual. We’ll just move on and focus on next weekend.”
