From Andretti Autosport
Day One of qualifying for the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge saw a variety of track conditions as the Andretti team of five drivers worked to set grid positions. Ultimately, the day came to an early end due to rain and positions 13-33 were set under dark skies. Both Marco Andretti and Colton Herta saw trouble during their first qualifying attempts with Andretti being victim of qualifying interference from a competitor’s car on track, while Herta’s No. 26 suffered a mechanical issue. Both cars took second attempts, as did the 27 of Alexander Rossi. Herta and Rossi were both in the Priority Lane for third attempts when the rain came. The day ended with Alexander Rossi in 21st, Marco Andretti in 23rd, Devlin DeFrancesco in 24th and Colton Herta in 25th.
